Secretary of State:
The current Secretary of State in the United States is Hillary Clinton. Secretary Clinton was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 26, 1947. She attended local public schools and later went on to graduate from Wessely College and then Yale Law School, where she met her current husband Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton served as governor of Arkansas and she served as First Lady. Bill was then elected as President of the United States and Hillary did a lot of the work with him. She was sworn in as the 67th Secretary of State for the United States on January 21, 2009. She joined the State Department after almost four decades of working as an advocate, attorney, first lady, and senator. The Secretary of State is appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate. The Secretary carries out the President's foreign policies through the State Department and the Foreign Service of the United States. In 2007 she began her historic campaign for President of the United States. Hillary Clinton also has wrote two books also to add to her many accomplishments.
Attorney General:
The Attorney General of the United States is Eric H. Holder Jr. He was sworn in as the 82nd Attorney General of the United States on February 3, 2009 by Vice President Joe Biden. President Barack Obama announced his intention to nominate Mr. Holder on December 1, 2008. In 1997, Mr. Holder was named by President Clinton to be the Deputy Attorney General, the first African-American named to that post. He is a native of New York, and attended many of the public schools there. He graduated from Columbia Law School in 1976. After graduating, he moved out to Washington, D.C. to work in the Department of Justice. Holder has a wife and three children.
